BOSS GT-3 TURBO FACTS
The BOSS GT-3 is a pedal board style guitar multi-effects processor that offers a large array of features at a very affordable price:
  • Composite Object Sound Modeling to emulate 14 of the worldıs most popular guitar amps, speaker cabinets and even mic placement.
  • 32 types of effects, with up to 13 available simultaneously.
  • 340 programs (200 preset, 140 user).
  • Up to 10 realtime controllers per Patch.
  • Auto-riff, which allows a series of notes to be triggered arpeggio-style from a single note.
  • Slicer, which allows unique, syncopated patterns to be created by "slicing" the sound into rhythmic sections.
  • Master BPM, which allows all tempo-based effect parameters to be synchronized and controlled in real time by tap tempo or expression pedal.
  • Pickup Simulator, which simulates humbucker, single coil or "half-hum" pickup sounds.
  • Special effects for acoustic guitar.
  • EZ-Edit function, which makes it possible to alter entire Patches with just a few quick steps.
  • External distortion loop and a built-in chromatic tuner.
  • Enclosed in a sturdy, all-metal case.


Initialization
Use the following procedure to restore factory settings:
  1. Turn the Power ON while holding down MOD and SFX.
  2. Press WRITE.
Connecting the GT-3 to an Amp or PA System
The GT-3 can be used with a guitar amp or full range PA. You can specify the type of amp being used, such as Combo, Stack, or Line. Connect two audio cables from the stereo outputs to the L & R inputs of your sound system. Use the following procedure to set up the GT-3:
  1. Press UTILITY.
  2. Use the VALUE DIAL to select the type of amp.
  3. Press EXIT.
  4. Connect your guitar cable to the INPUT jack on the rear panel of the GT-3.
  5. Adjust the output level of your guitar so that the Overload Light lights up only during your loudest notes.
  6. Adjust the LEVEL knob on the rear panel of the GT-3 as desired.
Selecting Patches
The GT-3 includes 340 Patches that are organized by bank and number. There are 35 user banks and 50 preset banks, and each bank contains 4 Patches. The presets are highlighted in the LCD Display. The Patches can be selected by pressing the appropriate foot pedal.
  1. Press the BANK UP or BANK DOWN pedal to select the desired bank.
  2. Press Pedals 1-4 to select Patches within the bank. The LED on the pedal will light to indicate the selected Patch.
  3. Use the above procedure to try out Patches 36-4 (AUTO RIFF), 47-2 (METAL 5150) and 69-1 (ARPEGGIO).
Editing Patches
The GT-3 has 12 buttons that correspond with the effects groups that contain the 31 effects. Each effect has a corresponding LED that will light when that effect is being used. Use the following procedure to edit an effect:
  1. Press the Effect Select button that corresponds to the effect parameter you wish to edit until it is lit.
  2. Use the PARAMETER buttons to select the Effect Parameters and the VALUE DIAL to edit the value.
EZ Edit
EZ Edit on the GT-3 allows you to create a sound by selecting a Preset Patch and adjusting a few parameters. Use the following procedure to edit a Patch using the EZ Edit function:
  1. Press EZ EDIT.
  2. Use the VALUE DIAL to select Patch type.
  3. Press VARIATION and use the VALUE DIAL to select the desired variation on the Patch type.
  4. Press DRIVE and use the VALUE DIAL to adjust the amount of distortion or sustain.
  5. Press TONE and use the VALUE DIAL to adjust the tone.
  6. Press MOD and use the VALUE DIAL to adjust the modulation of the sound.
  7. Press DELAY and use the VALUE DIAL to adjust the delay of the sound.
Manual Mode
Manual Mode allows you to use Pedals 1-4 and the BANK pedals as on and off switches for selected Effects. To enter Manual Mode:
  1. Press MANUAL.
  2. Press the pedals to turn the effects on or off.

    NOTE: You can also use a footswitch to enter/exit Manual Mode.
