Roland EM-2000 Creative Keyboard
Loading Demo User Programs from Floppy Disk
SN98 v1.0, March 1st, 1999
The EM-2000 Creative Keyboard is several instruments in one:
- Realtime Arranger with 128 onboard Music Styles including 16 new acoustic Styles
- Access to 441 additional Music Styles on the included Zip disk
- Professional 16 track sequencer
- Realtime Arrangement Scratchpad for quick and easy creation of songs
- Realtime DSP EFX editor (with 89 onboard EFX)
- 61-note semi-weighted performance keyboard
- D-Beam Controller
- Built-in speakers
This supplemental note is intended to help demonstrate the Sounds and Styles of the EM-2000 by calling up new User Programs. You will need to load the User Programs from the Demo Disk model 2686US. These User Programs are organized to quickly and efficiently demo single sounds, layers, splits, aftertouch, DSP EFX, Styles and the D-Beam by pressing one button.
I. Loading the User Program Set
Use the following procedure to load the user program data into the EM-2000 before beginning the demo:
- Power on the EM-2000 with the Factory Zip disk in the Zip drive.
- Press F5 [Disk], then use the PAGE UP and DOWN cursors to access the USR PRG page.
- Insert the Demo Disk model 2686US into the drive and press M DRUMS [DEVICE].
- Press UPPER 1 [EXECUTE] to load the file "SALEDEMO" followed by F5 [Exit].
II. Beginning the Demo
After the User Program data is loaded, use the following procedure to demonstrate the features of the EM-2000:
- In the TONE/USER PROGRAM section, press SELECT so USER PROGRAM is lit.
- Press GROUP to access the A Bank.
- Press TONE/USER PROGRAM 1 twice to select "A11 SND DEMO."
- Press USER PROGRAM UP> to select the desired User Program.
NOTE: User Programs A11-A18 are set up for demonstrating the sounds, keyboard layers, splits, aftertouch, and DSP EFX (see Table 1). User Programs A21-A38 are for demonstrating various Music Styles (see Table 2). User Programs A41-A48 are for demonstrating the D-Beam function (see Table 3).
NOTE: Some of the Styles used in this demo are supplied from the Zip disk via the Disk Link function. If the EM-2000 is accessing the floppy drive and not the Zip drive you will be prompted to access it (ID5). If so, press M DRUMS [EXECUTE] so the EM-2000 can complete the Disk Link to the Zip drive.
