KORG NX5R - SYNTHESIZER MODULE

Now with an internal XG tone generator board. The NX5R is a desktop music sound module with awesome flexibility!
In addition to the AI2 synthesis tone generator acclaimed by musicians worldwide, the NX5R adds an XG tone generator daughter-board, packing a double punch of music power. With 96 voices, 48 channel multi-timbrality, 2,365 sounds (1,689 AI2 sounds and 676 AWM2 sounds), and 52 different drum kits (31 AI2 and 21 AWM2), the NX5R easily switches between the XG and AI2 tone generators, so you can enjoy a wide range of tonal variations in one instrument. In addition to complete compatibility with GM and XG, the NX5R supports sound maps for GS and the KORG Super-series (X5 tone generator sound map).

Flexible Sound Creation
AI2 generator is fully programmable, with a large12 Mbyte PCM wave memory ROM to draw from. Its RAM area allows you to store 128 sound programs and 128 combinations of your own creation. And with two independent stereo multi-effect units that give you 47 effects each, you can add the finishing touches to your sound. The AI2 tone generator functions as a 32-part multi-timbral tone generator with 64-note polyphony. So you have everything you need to adjust the finest sonic details of your music.

Cover Any Musical Need
The XG tone generator section provides complete compatibility with the advanced XG standard, allowing the NX5R to correctly play back any music file created according to that standard. It provides 676 normal voices (programs) and 21 drum kits which can consist of either 480 voices and 11 drum kits in XG mode, or 579 voices and 10 drum kits in TG300B mode (compatible with GM System Level 1). This allows the XG tone generator to function as a 16-part multi-timbral tone generator with 32-note polyphony. By using the AI2 tone generator and the XG tone generator together, you have a 48-part multi-timbral tone generator with 96-note polyphony!

Control & Connect
The NX5R's 144 x 40 dual-color (amber/yellow-green), backlit full-graphic custom LCD is easy to see in all environments. A 3D level meter lets you monitor all 48 parts at a glance. The graphic display makes serious sound editing a breeze. The rotary encoder and cursor key switches provide logical and intuitive operation. The on-board computer interface makes it possible to connect the NX5R directly to a Macintosh or PC-compatible using a single cable (optional AG-001/AG-002). Plus, Line-in jacks allow the sounds of other instruments to be output together with the NX5R.
