DD1500X-II

AKAI

The DD1500x-II Digital Storage Unit houses up to two SCSI drives, including fixed or removable-media hard drives (for simultaneous 12-track record/16-track playback) as well as high-capacity (2.6gb) Limdow magneto optical drives that each provide up to 8-track record/12-track playback with 30 minutes of 8-track record time (four hours mono) per side. If your project consists primarily of audio clips rather than sustained tracks (as many projects do), playback of up to 16 tracks from MO is possible.

The MO drive offers proven reliability, transportability, and cross-platform compatibility. MO disks recorded on our DD1000, DR8, DR16 and DD8 are fully compatible with the DD1500. So you can record, say, dialog or foley on a DD8, pop the disk into the DD1500x-II, and that disk will be read as though it was recorded right on the DD1500x-II itself. (Getting the idea of assembling inexpensive satellite systems for your master DD1500?)

Naturally, SCSI backup devices are supported, and the system has a complete archiving routine built-in.

Recording medium: 130mm (5.25 inch) magneto-optical disk Disk capacity 2.6; 1.3 GB; 650 MB, SCSI (x2), 50 pin Amphenol

Dimensions (WxHxD): 483 x 88.1 x 408.8mm (EIA 2U size)

Weight: 7.9kg
